"City of Hope's POSEIDON Platform: Powering the Next Generation of Precision Oncology Research and Therapies"

City of Hope, a highly ranked cancer hospital and National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, has collaborated with DNAnexus to create the cloud-based Precision Oncology Software Environment Interoperable Data Ontologies Network (POSEIDON).

The POSEIDON platform leverages DNAnexus’ capabilities to explore, analyze, and visualize deidentified clinico-genomic data from patients and public data sources. These insights are used for various purposes including in-house drug development, clinical trial matching, decision support for tumor boards, and the generation of new research ideas.

This white paper from DNAnexus details the new information that POSEIDON provides. It combines real-world clinical data with comprehensive molecular profiling, analytics, and predictive modeling to deliver patient-specific insights. The platform supports cohort exploration and discovery, feasibility testing, and hypothesis generation and testing. The data from POSEIDON has been used in over 10 funded National Institutes of Health grants, numerous publications, and for the development and training of AI/ML models. Future expansions to POSEIDON will enable more complex analysis and visualizations, as well as support for advanced predictive capabilities.
