This poster from Volta Labs demonstrates the enhancement of the IDT xGen NGS Hybridization Capture workflow through automation on the Volta Labs digital fluidics platform, significantly improving consistency, reducing hands-on time, and minimizing plastic waste while maintaining or enhancing capture metrics and variant detection in diverse genomic samples.
While some applications are supported by whole genome or transcriptome sequencing, many benefit significantly from the enrichment of targets before sequencing. Hybridization enrichment using biotinylated probes is an established method that offers consistent performance across a large range of target sizes and sample inputs. Hybridization capture workflows are complex and comprise several steps that require meticulous handling to meet performance metrics. Automation offers improved process control, but the implementation of automated methods using conventional liquid handlers is not trivial.
