Cryopreservation Protocols
Cryopreservation can be very time-consuming – holding each individual cryomold over a beaker for several minutes requires a steady hand and does not allow for multi-tasking. Additionally, frozen blocks can be difficult to extract from the mold and there is not enough space for labeling samples, making it confusing in shared storing spaces.
Seal’N Freeze Cryotrays allow researchers to batch process multiple tissue samples simultaneously, hands free. Each mold also has a lid for better protection/storage/hydration retention/transportation, and more space for labeling than a typical mold. The Cryotrays also allow for multiple tissue positioning options for frozen OCT blocks and creates uniform blocks every time.
These cryopreservation protocols provide instruction on how to embed in OCT, frozen with dry ice & alcohol or liquid nitrogen, for cryostat sectioning.
